First of all we would like to welcome you to our Apartment Bed of Roses. We have moved here and started this place in October 2014. We enjoyed and enjoy a lot of travelling ourselves, either for business or pleasure and we also like to spot the hidden gems. We hope to become one ourselves as we feel we have moved to  a unique place in the center of the city, with a lovely garden area. The name  Bed of Roses is inspired by the street we live in, there are a lot of floral names in the Jordaan area; the area where formerly the servants and helpers of the wealthy people who resided along the canals (Prinsengracht; Keizersgracht; Herengracht), lived.

Nowadays it is a lively area with one-of-a-kind shops, little restaurants and  bars that breathes a beautiful nostalgic atmosphere by the typical architecture of the buildings.

Either enjoy a walk (you might consider a guided walk to gain deeper knowledge) or do like the Dutch do and cross the canals on a bicycle (rentals available nearby). It’s quite a tourist thing to join a boat tour, but you may actually like it: it gives another view on the architecture of the city and you might be happy to give your feet some rest! For the real adventurous: rent your own boat (f.i. www.sloepdelen.nl)

What to do? You might have prepared all the itineraries when planning this trip, or you just enjoy to plunge in and see whatever crosses your path.

There are some handy sites to make the most of your Amsterdam experience.
